Twelve beautiful and environment savvy local ladies will compete for the Miss Earth Botswana 2007 scheduled for Boipuso Hall on July 28.
Held for the first time in Botswana, Miss Earth Botswana is the local leg of the international Miss Earth pageant aimed at highlighting environmental issues.
The ladies competing for the title will showcase not only their looks but will be in a position to express their concern for Mother Nature and preservation of the environment.
They will also express basic knowledge about their country, culture, environment and tourism issues. The winner will represent Botswana in the Miss Earth Beauty pageant to be held in Manila, Philippines, on October 14.
About 132 countries are expected to participate in this years contest. One of the organisers of the pageant, Segametsi Kgari says the pageant aims at promoting awareness of environmental issues.
