 VietNamNet Bridge – Thirty contestants of the Miss Earth 2007 arrived in
Vietnam ready for three days of competition in Vinpearl tourist site in the coastal city of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province.
At the same time, Miss Earth 2007 pageant contest is taking place very ebulliently in Manila, the Philippines. According to Vietnamese representative, model Truc Diem, the second group of contestants or 30 girls in Vietnam is considered the ‘strongest’ one. Both girls, who are said to have great chance to win the Miss Earth title, the beauty queens from the Philippines and India, are in this group. The representative of the “powerful country” for beauty, Venezuela, is also a member of the second group.

 LONDON, England – In a shocking twist in the size zero debate,
a healthy looking Miss England has been asked to load up on the curves before she hits the Miss World pageant this December.
Georgia Horsley, an English 20-year-old, was asked by pageant organizers to put pounds on her frame in hopes of giving her a better chance at the Miss World competition in China.
“Basically, the Miss World Organizers promote healthy eating. They want their girls to be more voluptuous and curvy and womanly rather than the stick-thin, size zero models,” Horsley told “Today’s” Meredith Vieira about the request to fatten her up.
Horsley however, is not size zero. In fact, she confirmed on “Today,” that she is about an American size 4. So why have they asked her to add to her frame?

 The swimming pool at Vinpearl According to plan, 30 beauties will fly to Vinpearl tourist site in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province on October 30. They will meet with journalists and have a tour of Vinpearl on the same day. On October 31, they will participate in many activities such as taking photographs, planting trees, cleaning beaches, visiting a village for orphans and poor children.
The Miss Earth pageant contest is not simply a beauty contest but one to campaign for a greener and cleaner earth. Thus, 30 contestants will have to try their best to show off their knowledge and ideas in cleaning the environment.
