21-YEAR-OLD Alberta Nana Adwoa Arhin was last Friday given the mantle to represent Ghana at next year’s International Exquisite Face of the Universe pageant show.
Out of the eleven delegates who did the catwalk in self-designed costumes, only one had to wear the crown and the performance of all the ladies clearly showed that they had prepared their heads for the silver tiara.
With wild hairstyles, the ladies, with beauty and style mounted the stage with admiration from the crowd at TV3 Studio B, displaying the designs of some local fashion designers.
The other delegates were Faustina Ghansah, 21, Siba Sappor, 24, Deborah Olaga, 26, Angela Surag Danbanki, 21, Hanna Hulley, 21, Delight Adouguba, 21, Matilda Mawuena Mikekpor, 27 and 17-year-old Leena Abdul-Wahed.

A select audience will get to have a sneak peek at this visual treat, which will be launched today at Uppal’s Orchid. Present at the glittering do will be the six beauties who feature in this year’s calendar – Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe 2007 Puja Gupta, Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2007 Sarah Jane Dias, Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth and Miss Earth Air 2007 Pooja Chitgopekar, and Pantaloons Femina Miss India finalists Esha Gupta, Nova Krishnan and Shilpa Keswani.

China PR has won the highly coveted title of Miss World 2007 in a glittering, star-studded ceremony at the Beauty Crown Theatre in Sanya, Hainan Province, China.
The 2007 Miss World Festival has seen 106 beautiful and talented contestants spend an unforgettable month in China, but there could only be one winner and the applause rang out in the packed theatre as Julia Morley, Chairman of the Miss World Organisation and of the international panel of judges, announced the winner’s name.
Her smile shone out to a worldwide TV audience of over 2 billion as she was crowned by last year’s Miss World, Tatana Kucharova.
First runner-up was Angola, followed by Mexico as second runner-up. The other two finalists were Trinidad & Tobago and Sweden. An impressive cast of international stars and music artists ensured that the 57th Miss World Final was a dazzling event. The TV spectacular was hosted by top Chinese TV presenter Angela Chow, presenting Miss World for the fifth year in succession, alongside co-host Fernando Allende, who is one of Latin America’s biggest stars and was making his Miss World debut.

 HONG KONG CHINA Hong Kong China and Ecuador have both been fast-tracked into the Miss World Semi-Final as joint winners of the ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ Award, it has just been announced during the 57th Miss World Final show. They were presented with their trophies by Maki Mandela, daughter of Nelson Mandela.
This is the first time in Miss World history that there have been joint winners of this prestigious award which recognises the achievement of both the contestants and their licence holders for their outstanding charity work in the community.
As a result there will be six Fast Track Semi-Finalists in total. With 10 more to be added to the Semi-Final line-up by the judges in the coming minutes, 16 contestants rather than the usual 15 will contest tonight’s Miss World Semi-Final. Hong Kong China, Ka Yi Cheung, has been helping old people, regularly working at retirement homes. She also has strong ties with UNICEF, doing so much to help raise money for this vitally important United Nations children’s fund.
Over the years, the Miss World licence holder in Hong Kong China has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for charity, a truly remarkable and praiseworthy achievement.
