We all know that Miss Venezuela, Miss Puerto Rico and Miss USA are listed among the favorites to win this year's Miss Universe pageant across the board at nearly every online gambling site offering odds, but what about those 2008 Miss Universe wildcards?

Miss Czech Republic - She's listed with +1000 odds at BetOnline.com for a payout potential of $1000 on every $100 bet.  Most online gambling sites have her listed around +1100 or 11/1 odds. 

The longest and best paying odds on Miss Czech Republic could be found at BetUS.com - a $1200 payout for every $100 bet.

Miss Panama doesn't always appear among the top 10 Miss Universe favorites but this year is one notable exception. 

Internet users around the world will have the chance to choose the Best National Costume at the Miss Universe 2008 contest, in which Peru is competing against nine other countries.

Miss Peru 2008, Karol Castillo, participates with the costume “Ñusta from Cusco” which has the famous image of Machu Picchu, the new wonder of the world, on the cloak.

According to experts, this award increases the possibilities of Peru to win the Miss Universe crown because it could position our candidate as one of the favorites of the audience.

After Miss Venezuela at +625 odds, Miss Puerto Rico is the second biggest favorite to win the 2008 Miss Universe Pageant this coming Sunday. 

 Miss Puerto Rico 2008 Miss Universe odds were listed at +750 at SBG Global, which just released odds on this mega event Tuesday.  A $100 bet would pay out $750 if Miss Puerto Rico were to win.

Miss Puerto Rico, Ingrid Rivera, engages in plenty of community work.

"I'm proud when I can help canalize efforts with others in order to contribute to the betterment of the society beyond daily chores," Rivera stated. 

"I’ve been recognized for community work back home and it's a huge responsibility to be seen as a role model.

The Miss Universe Organisation has announced the five-member panel of judges who will choose this year’s winner on July 14 and the names of the jury board of the preliminary competition scheduled for July 8 night.

The July 8 event will see 80 contestants participate in the formal gown and bathing suit competitions, from which only 15 semi-finalists will be chosen.

The esteemed panel of judges for the finale are: Australian Jennifer Hawkins, the winner of the 2004 Miss Universe; Donald John Trump Jr, the Trump Organisation’s executive vice president and scion of the famed real estate developer Donald Trump; Roberto Cavalli, the internationally acclaimed Italian fashion designer; Louis Licari, one of the world’s foremost hair experts and Nadine Velasquez, one of the hottest actresses and models in the US.
