Somerset, KY: Shannen Reil of West Van Lear, Kentucky was crowned the new 2008 Miss Kentucky TEEN USA®. The pageant was held in Somerset at the Center for Rural Development and over 50 young ladies from across the entire state competed for the prestigious title. Preliminary competitions were held on Friday night and the final competition followed on Saturday night in which the contestants competed in personality interview, swimsuit, and evening gown. Shannen Reil was crowned by the reigning 2007 Miss Kentucky TEEN USA®, Katrina Giannini. Miss Reil is 15 years old and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Reil. As Miss Kentucky TEEN USA®, Shannen Reil will embark on a year long journey making personal appearances throughout the state as the reigning MISS KENTUCKY TEEN USA®.
She also wins an extensive prize package which includes scholarships, cash, diamond jewelry, plus an all expense paid trip to represent Kentucky at the 2008 MISS TEEN USA® pageant.
The queen’s court was made up of four outstanding, beautiful young ladies from across the state.
First runner up was Miss Hailie Brofft of Fort Thomas, Kentucky;
Second runner up was Miss Amber Whittle of Russell Springs, Kentucky;
Third runner up was Miss Emily Watson of Glasgow, Kentucky; and the Fourth runner up was Miss Hanna Blanchette of Fulton, Kentucky.
As the State Director, Connie Clark Harrison has hosted the pageant for over twenty years. Each year, the pageant brings together a group of exceptionally beautiful, smart and determined young women who are committed to setting personal goals and achieving them.
