Miss India 2008THE CHEERLEADERS at Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, who had been facing criticism all these days, have got a respite. While many have already been questioning the authorities for using cheerleaders in the cricket field, it is the turn of beauty queens to join the debate on cheergirls and their brand of dancing.

Recently crowned Femina Miss India 2008, Tanvi Vyas, who was in Jammu recently, came out in support of the concept of cheerleaders and asked the audience to try not to see the act as vulgar but respect those girls, for they are only doing their job.

Interacting with media men on the sidelines of a function organised by Flying Cats to launch fresh courses inJammu, Tanvi gave a sound piece of advice to those who have raised ‘hullabaloo’ against the leg shaking cheer leaders – the most visible feature of the newly launched IPL T-20 cricket tournament.

The dancing cheerleaders are not promoting any kind of vulgarity but just entertaining audience gathered inside the cricket stadium to enjoy the game, she said. No one has asked the cheerleaders to promote vulgarity. Every individual has a choice and freedom to choose and watch programmes of his/her own interest, she added.

Referring to the phrase – ‘beauty lies in the eyes of beholder’ – Miss India (Earth) said that lot depended on the individual’s choice as well, in situations like these.

As long as people are satisfied and enjoying their brand of cricket, no one is going to stop the practice and get embroiled in morality debate, she said, adding, if some section of audience felt outraged and had raised objections, it was their personal opinion and it was a healthy sign.

Meanwhile, launching fresh courses offered at Flying Cats and Global Retail School (GRS), Tanvi asserted that demand for human resources was high in aviation and its allied sectors.

She further added that the honorarium was not only lucrative but also provided adventure to the aspirants. Tanvi said Flying Cats and GRS with state of arts and unique concept and the modern approach to education were providing quality training and education, which was required by the industry. She also interacted with the students of the host institute.

For the new aspirants that Flying Cats has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ICICI as education loan provider for providing easy education loan through ICICI bank to eligible students of Flying Cats at most competitive rate of interest and even offers exceptional opportunity for on board practical training and training trip to Singapore.

The J&K minister for health and medical education, Mangat Ram Sharma; chairman Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP), Prof Bhim Singh; legislators RS Chib, Devinder Singh Rana; editor in chief of ’The Latest’, Gurjeet Singh; and director Jammu centre, Narinder Kour also shared the dais with the brand ambassador Flying Cats on this education programme launching ceremony.

Meanwhile, in the dance party organised by the organisers, Sanker Sawhney and his troupe entertained the crowd and forced them to put on their dancing shoes. /india.merinews.com
