Jennifer Hawkins has a sparkle, a radiating inner and outer beauty that has helped her through some pretty hairy incidents, including the day she was snapped in her G-string after losing her skirt during a fashion show.
But where many girls would be reduced to a blubbering mess by such humiliation, the former Newcastle cheerleader simply shrugs her pretty shoulders and moves on. It is this gift for natural charm that has some of the biggest beauty, clothing and lingerie brands in the world lining up to use her as the face of their brand. Whether it's jetsetting around the world, wining and dining with business mogul and friend Donald or brushing shoulders with the Hollywood A-list, Hawkins says there is a key to staying grounded.
"You just have to take a moment for yourself," says Hawkins, 24, who has embarked on a new journey on Channel 7 reality show Make Me A Supermodel. "Because a picture lasts forever you have to have a thick skin, but also be a bit easy-going because things could change within two seconds. You need to just take your moment because everything is unpredictable." With an ambition to work in TV and modelling, Hawkins found herself on the fast-track to fame and fortune after winning Trump's Miss Universe pageant in 2004. Back then, she was just a pompom-shaking cheerleader supporting Andrew Johns and the boys of the Newcastle Knights in her hometown. Today, she has just returned from playing guest judge in this year's Miss Universe pageant in Vietnam. /www.news.com.au
