Miss Bahamas World 2008 Tinnyse Johnson's preparation to represent the country on the world stage will not be in vain, as a new date and location for the international pageant has been set.
The beauty pageant which was to be held in Kiev, Ukriane on Oct. 4, will now take place on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa, according to pageant executive chairman Julia Morley. According to Morley, contestants of the upcoming 58th Miss World pageant will be enjoy a full South African authentic experience during their four-week stay, and will visit many South African landmarks. Johnson, 21, and the other contestants from around the world are expected to arrive in Johannesburg on Nov. 16, to prepare for the finale on Dec. 12.
Johnson, is presently traveling between New York and Puerto Rico for photo shoots and training, to represent the country. She visited designer Valentino Zeliachi, one of many designers who will dress her for the competition, where she received a number of outfits. "The Miss World office has been in close contact with all international directors so we knew from the very start of all the problems that they would have to postpone it," she says. "
So we don't have a problem with the change, especially as it gives us more time to prepare Tinnyse, who is currently in Puerto Rico now being trained. Because of the change, we've extended her time there [Puerto Rico], so she should be back home on Sunday, Aug. 31, and this gives us more time to do what we have to do. /thenassauguardian.com
