 Stellar Marianas to present last Miss Marianas pageant. This Saturday, one queen will be crowned to represent the CNMI in the 2009 Miss Universe and Miss International pageants.
After months of hard work and preparation, five beautiful contestants will compete in the 2008 Miss Marianas Universe Pageant on Nov. 29, from 7pm to 10pm at the Palms Resort Saipan Theater Hall.
Doors will open at 6pm and tickets are now being sold for $20 a person at the Marianas Variety office in Garapan.
With today's economic downturn, Stellar Marianas, a non-profit organization composed of volunteers, has decided to take a break from pageantry and has announced that this pageant will be the last for a while.
“So if you have not seen a pageant or love the shows.this is the time to come and see it. With a rock-and-roll theme, this Miss Marianas Universe Pageant will be the show of the year,” said Stellar Marianas president Laila Y. Boyer.
“Without the continued support of our generous sponsors and community, we would have not been able to offer this opportunity of a lifetime to our young women,” she said.
“It is with a heavy heart that we realize we are all going through difficult times and the support is harder to give. Therefore, we will focus on completing the new titleholder's reign and then take a much needed rest,” she added. Via Saipan Tribune / Image Archive 2007 Miss Marianas Teen
